Mano Jazz guitar
The first model of Mano Jazz guitar was first presented and shown at the Issoudun Festival in October 2014.
I’d been feeling like making a jazz guitar for quite a few years but of course without replicating an existing model. I had also noticed that Mario Macaferri had been inspired by the quartet instrument making to draw some of his guitars. Therefore I got inspired by my own work on the bowed instruments (bass bar and sound post)… The internal soundboard isn’t fixed to the sides, which allows it to resonate like a string instead of a stretched skin. The string fitting system will certainly be improved to create even more vibrations on the external soundboard. I’m quite satisfied with the sound of this instrument and I will probably use the idea of its making for classic guitar, bouzouki and mandolin, and why not bass!
