Eden G

Eden G (Guitar)

This Eden G is the very first instrument of my “Eden” range, it is at the very start of a big adventure…

To make it possible for musicians to play on unique instruments in the world is awesome and since I started my work, I’ve been doing my very best for that with pleasure. This instrument was made to make guitar players be carried away into the fantastic world of the bowed instruments. The majority of the bowed guitars that have been made (“arpeggione” in Italian) are played like cellos or viole da gamba. Using the idea of the Swedish nyckelharpa, I could keep the guitar playing position. Nonetheless, it seems important to me to warn my future potential customers about the fact that as for any new instrument, time is required to learn… You won’t be able to master the bowing technique within 2 days!

The soundboard is made of spruce, the body is alder (monoxyl), the back is made of chestnut wood, the neck is made of walnut wood, and the fingerboard is made of maple. The Pegheds (that are sold at Fred’s guitar store in Toulouse) are a perfect imitation of the wooden pegs but have a high-precision internal mechanism.

Eden B

Eden B (Bass)

The “Eden” range brings together all the bowed instruments with this way of playing; the instrument is played with a strap and you stand as you play it. This range is made of Eden B (bass), G (guitar), M (mandola), C (cello), A (alto), F (fiddle).

Eden M

Eden M (Mandola)

This tenor violin belonging to my “Eden” range is tuned like a mandola (GDAE). I drew it so that it could get cello 1/8 strings, which allows me to make the chord with a 460 mm scale. It may have 8 or 12 sympathetic strings on an autonomous bridge, the strings pass below the fingerboard. Nylon fretted fingerboard or fretless.

First model : the soundboard is made of spruce, the back is made of curly cherry-tree wood (the added allows not to block the vibration of the back; this instrument has got a sound post), the sides (monoxyl) are made of cedar, the neck is made of walnut wood and the tailpiece is made of boxwood, the bridge is made of ebony and bone, there’s an internal piezo mic (which is self powered and has 2 cells), guitar tuning machines.
Dernier modèle : table en épicéa, fond en érable, touche en palissandre frettée, manche en sorbier, mécaniques de guitare 12 cordes.

Eden C

Eden C (Cello)

The video below shows the Eden C (Cello) and the Eden M (Mandola, tenor violin):

The “Eden” range brings together all the bowed instruments with this way of playing; the instrument is played with a strap and you stand as you play it. This range is made of Eden B (bass), G (guitar), M (mandola), C (cello), A (alto), F (fiddle). Not including the bass version, each one exists with or without sympathetic strings.

Dernier modèle d’eden C (mai 2020) : accord CGDAE et 7 cordes sympathiques, table en épicéa, micro Piezzo.

Eden A

Eden A (Alto)

The Eden A violin is a “da petto” alto violin. Its vibrating length (scale) is the same as an alto violin with a playing position of a nyckelharpa… and 12 sympathetic strings.

Eden F

Eden F (Fiddle)

The Eden F violin (17-string fiddle) is the last born of this “Eden” range, an instrument family that was created in my workshop : a 5-string violin DGDAE + 12 sympathetic strings… The soundboard is made of spruce, the back and neck are made of curly maple, with Wittner tuning machines, piezo mic (3 points sensors).
